Clutch overheating warning on dash
Hi,
I have a 21 plate elite nav 1.2 petrol with 38k miles.
I have had the car serviced and scanned to see if anything could be learned, as I have that dreaded “clutch temp, limit use” warning appearing. No related error codes.
I have noticed it only appears in 6th gear? So I had the clutch & flywheel relearn process performed to see if it would clear it? No luck.
As I understand it, the car imagines clutch slip if the ratios between road speed, wheel speed, gear ratio etc don’t add up. There’s probably a lot of other parameters involved, I haven’t yet seen a good (full) explanation or a possible cure. Anyone?
When it comes on, usually after about 1 minute of 6th gear driving, I believe it also triggers an engine fan to operate.
It resets when the ignition is turned off. So I get the chime and warning for the whole journey unless I avoid 6th gear.

I have now determined that if the warning is triggered, it will reset after a period of time whilst not using 6th gear. I tried this a number of times and the time to reset ranged from 2m 30s to 1m 30s.AdrianC wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 1:51 pm Hi,

This leads me to believe that the driving data for 6th gear is bad and that when it gets overwritten it resets the condition.
Does anyone know where this data is stored (which module) so that I can try a reset or module replacement to see if this cures the warning trigger?
