outside temp

i have just purchased a grandland x 21 reg have noticed the outside temp is there but not lit up is this how it should be, or is there a way of lighting it up?.

Not lit up as in grey? If so, you need to update your infotainment system. With certain update they've changed it so the temp appears white and is easily visibly.

Hi Border.
Your infotainment system is out of date,
( You would have thought they would have updated it before handing it over, welcome to Vauxhall !!).
If you look at the update threads you will find a topic on how to do it, it's not difficult just time consuming.
