Hi I've just bought an 18 reg grandland x se.
All the cars I owned before have had child locks but this one seems to just have a blank. I never thought to look pre purchase as I assumed all car had them. My 4 yr old opened the door on the motorway yesterday I don't think she will do it again as she got a fright. Is there anyway to put childlocks on this model is it as simple as buying a set of the 3 switches from next to the gear stick as all the wiring and locks will be on the door but not activated or would thuis mean od have to change setting on ecu which I can't do?

Thanks for reading hopefully someone can help me out on this one.

There are two types of child lock fitted, electric and mechanical. The electric version has a button on the dashboard near the bottom right hand corner of the central screen. The mechanical locks are operated with a key in the red fitting in the edge of each rear door. If the swith position is blank then yu probably have the mechanical locks.

Hi thanks for the reply I have neither there os no button or red fitting there is just a rubber blank where I assume the red key hole should be. I've just rand my local vauxhall dealer to be told that if a car is not fitted with something as standard they won't do any retro fit of anything. Strange.
