Just brought this car privately, it seems a nice car.
But found a couple of problems with it which I hopefully can put right!
Firstly the last owner foolishly fitted a standard battery (not a start stop battery which is showing discharged) , brought a new of the correct type and going to fit that today.
Not sure if it’s related to battery but every time I try to accelerate at speed I get error code for low pressure fuel rail pressure fault code P0087 followed by loads of other warning lights. If you turn on and off all lights go but yellow em light is still present until cleared with obd2 tool but returns again under acceleration.
Brought a service kit so going to replace fuel filter along with air, engine oil and filter. Has anyone else had these problems? Will keep you all updated after today’s work. Hopefully I can start enjoying this car soon.
Forget to mention car has done 38000 miles.
This fault also shows after first fault is achieved U1208 Electric Brake Control Module Fault. But only get the two fault together after heavy acceleration.
Grandland x 1.5d 69 reg P0087 and U1208 limp mode loads of warning lights
I have had a similar power loss problem today. Out driving when suddenly engine fault light came on and speed dropped to almost nothing. Wouldn't go over 5 mph.
Managed to limp home and called RAC.
By the time they came about 5 hours later the problem resolved itself and car working fine Vauxhall were not much help. They said if the RAC couldn't find the fault neither could they. But if it happens again bring it in. Has this happened to anyone more than once

Thanks for the reply.
Mine did it more often.
Old battery read 55% charge using OBD2.
Changed the battery today and it’s not faulted since. But haven’t been on the motorway yet there is were it failed most.
The new battery is showing 74% charge so start stop still not working as that needs to be higher than 75%.
Hopefully this will work soon!
As per previous message the last owner had fitted the incorrect battery, car did a hissing fit on connection (lights flashing etc) but after reading another post that it takes 30 minutes to register with the ECU. Than it did.
The low pressure pump sounds better on turning key also so hopefully be ok. The old owner also fitted the battery side mounting clamp poorly bending it as the battery he used was bigger in length found that the battery had been moving around that could have also hit plugs etc.
The new battery fitted perfectly I straighten the clamp and it fitted snug and not moving now. changed the air filter today which looked new anyway (had a 2024 date) will change fuel filter soon but it was really cold today! And messing around with the silly brackets took longer than I planned! Will keep you all updated.
Last post sounds like a sensor problem, could this be a poor battery also, I would check the charge % using OBD2, thought it would or stored a code when it failed, my car went higher than 5mph I was on the motorway when it last failed and I did 50mph until I left motorway and cleared code etc. it would’ve done more speed than that, but I felt I had to go slower. It did feel a bit restricted but not much.

No still faulting with low fuel pressure. Fuel filter next.
