Hi, I have a problem with my 68 Grandland TD.
Every time I switch the key I get this error.
I have a wee OBD2 error reader that show that car has no error. Also called RAC and they guy had his more sophisticated OBD2 error reader with the form of a tablet and that showed no error. He did a trick by disconnecting battery for few seconds and then started car okay. I thought that is it. I was happy that has been fixed.
But next month same error came back and I tried the battery trick but that only lasted few days. Now I get the error every time I turn the key.

However engine starts okay and there is no sign of any problems. I revved it up to 2-2 1/2 rpm and the hand stayed still in one position without going up or down.

I was thinking it could be a battery but checked my battery with multimeter and that shows 12.3V , 12.4V when engine running. So I guess this is not it.

Car is able to drive very short distance maybe 10 yards then cuts power and engine completely stops.

I recently I changed all the filters that including fuel and oil filter.

Car is going to be seen by mechanics in Larbert (Central Sctoland) and it must be towed.

I would be thankful for any suggestions and if you had (have had) same issue please also state what it was.

I made a wee video about the errors and me trying to drive the car for short distance:

Thank you

I am no expert but the tyre underinflation uses the wheel speed sensors the same as the ABS system and as you have issues with both of those systenms it may be a problem with the wheel speed sensors.

Hi there,

Just washed my car this morning and having the exact same issue - same fault codes showing!

Very stressed at the minute as it is a leased car and due to be returned today!

Did you get any answers to this from your dealership? (Please tell me it is an easy and cheap fix)

Thnks again,
Matty

Sorry, Mattyp26, haven't checked this topic in a while.

Did you get nay luck with your car?

I took my car to repair - and that solved the issue. Read the codes and cleared them. I paid £560 (but that was nothing as price included 3 brand new tires).
And it worked ... for two weeks!

Now I am getting same problem and from whatever I searched it could be a faulty CAN cable - a common thing in Peugeot's (usually OSR wheel sensor and cable to be blamed) or a faulty battery (car has brand new battery from TMS autoparts).

I need to revisit the garage that "fixed" my car again!

I don't know what it is. I just want to repair it and get rid of this car. I will

Hello,
My 18 plate Crossland X has just started getting the exact same issue with tyre under inflation/ Hill start / ESP-ASR / ABS system faults.

Can you update me on how you got on with your same fault?

Many Thanks,

David

I'd say if you haven't had a new battery on a 68plate, then good chance it's had it, should be showing around 12.6v when standing and around 14v when running,
On my old grandland, my battery was showing 11.9v standing and when I put my code reader on it, it said there was lots of faults,
Vauxhall checked it and it failed their test so got a new battery under warranty

I've had this fault on a Mercedes, and it was one of the wheel sensors going intermittent.

I get this error and I am unable to drive. Could this be just a wheel sensor? I drive 5 meters and engine stops.
Funny to say I just washed my car two days ago. And as I kept It away from carwash for months everything was fine. It happened jus now again. Crazy thing sensors!

My theory would be: if the Electronic Control Unit doesn't get a reading from one wheel, it might assume the wheel is not turning (locked up) and stop the engine.

Hello All,
Thanks for the feedback.
On plugging in reader I had the fault code:
ECM (Engine Control Module)
C0037
Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit

I have replaced the wheel speed/ABS sensor but the fault code remains.
Cars been driven since and drives fine just with warning lights on.
Any special procedures for resetting this? Or any further ideas?

Car battery passed when tested but did say requires charging.

Thanks for any further help or guidance
