Service Interval

I am due a 3rd service on my Grandland X 1.2 Auto in December '22.

For the last few weeks I have been getting a message on the dash to service the vehicle in 1,200 miles (as of yesterday).

I have currently only done 3,665 miles since my last service.

Why would this be throwing up this message, I thought the service interval was longer, or have they changed the interval?

Regards

Hello DaPa. The service intervals are set miles nothing to do with driving etc as the interval is set to come on from when it was last reset. Hope this helps

From this then I'm guessing the interval may have not been reset on the last service.

Based on this information the mileage covered since the last service is the main factor or not, there are many articles on the web to say driving habits do affect service interval.

Do I change it based on the date of the last service or when the indicator specifies, if done on the indicator I would have covered 4,800 miles?

It sounds like it wasn't reset at your last service.

Since the car was serviced in 2020, 2 years ago I have done 10,314 miles as of today 27/07/22, it may well suggest it was not reset.

Is there any way of checking what progress the service interval tool is at any time during a given period?

The service Indicator can be reset quite easily, my question is why is it there other than just a guide as to when it is reset.

Does the on-board computer on the Grandland X register driving styles or anything for that matter?
