Hi guys,

I placed my order for a Grandland Elite in August 2021, I've just seen the updated Price Guide for MY2022A, you cannot order the Elite anymore, the equivalent is the Ultimate, I have sent my query to my dealership and Vauxhall Customer Care, currently awaiting a response. Has anyone else been in this position previously? Wondering whether they stick to the old specs or will they automatically upgrade me to the next model? Some big differences to the elite that I ordered is the Ultimate has for example heated windscreen, which the Elite does not and also 360 panoramic camera, the Elite has a 180 rear view camera.

Thanks,
Prem

Hi, my experience of this is that you get the current spec that comes of the production line. By the time I got mine the spec had been changed, no electric tail gate, no keyless ignition and tinted rear windows had gone. The only upgrade was part electric and better quality front seats. Others on the forum have had the same issues where some have gone as far as to reject the car.

You really need to tie the dealer down and get them to provide the car specification that you will get (that's if Vauxhall know themselves), a lot will depend on when the vehicle will be built as to what spec you get, specs are always changing and never for the better.

There have been a lot of spec changes due to part shortages and chip shortages so specifications have changed a lot from what people have ordered. As said you need to really find out from the dealership what you will receive.

Thanks both for the reply, i received this from the dealership, still awaiting response from Customer Care, I would not mind a free upgrade, but not sure if that in turn will affect the build date which is end of April currently and thats from customer care, not my dealership.

Thank you for your email and concerns, we have asked Vauxhall a number of questions in regards to the vehicles we have on order, one of which being will they make the cars in the specifications ordered or will they propose to change it in anyway. Our factory order specialist who deals directly with the factory has advised that in previous circumstances and taking into account that Vauxhall will have a lot of orders in the system nationwide, Vauxhall have normally either manufactured a small batch to match the specification that has been ordered or automatically upgrade to the next model. Clearly this is not a decision we can influence, but we have found that Vauxhall are very fair and reasonable and given that we also operate a system of fixing our pricing, our advice at this stage would be to await the factory advice which we would expect will come fairly swiftly as Vauxhall are extremely keen to get all the vehicles on the order banks, built and out to customers.

Will keep you updated on progress, thanks again.
