Hi. After contacting MD office Vauxhall sent their own technician to the dealership. They replaced the catalytic converter/particle filter assembly. This fixed it. None of the dealerships mechanics would risk this due to the cost of the part so we were in limbo for months. Vauxhall paid for the repair because this component should last for at least 100k miles. Ours had done 36k. It’s worked ok for a month now so should be fixed. Got cambelt changed as well as a precaution. Paid for that though.

The 1.2 petrol pure tech in the Grandland has a particulate filter similar to a diesel particulate filter. I assume they use the same error code on the petrol and diesel

Hi all. Car has worked great for 7 months now. I am changing the oil every 6K as I think these engines require that to try prevent these major issues

Hi there, I had this exact same error a while a go, no body I spoke to seem to understand it as its a petrol car not diesel.
After having a great chap come out with a decent ODB11 scanner he determined it wasnt actaully the GPF that was blocked but the sensor had failed . He proved it by physically measuring the back pressure as well .
I got a replacement Exhaust Pressure Sensor off ebay, took me 10 mins to replace easy to get to under the bonnet and solved the problem.
Vauxhall dealer was a waste of time. BTW.

Very interesting. Was it the 1.2 puretech?
