My Grandland low oil level has come on intermittently since Saturday, car is just over 4 years old with only 22500 miles on the clock, I've just rang the dealership to be told that there is no recall on it and said they would investigate it and the charge would be £168.00 and obviously would then be charging me an arm and a leg to fix it.

Cant believe how much of an issue this is!

As you can guess i have had the same loss of power and warning light. Today my 2019 Grandland X (38000 miles) has been at the local dealership to have a diagnostic check (£150) They confirmed 2 fault codes that relate to the timing belt issue.

Having checked my service history and invoices (which were all within time frames) the dealership have told me they are not even going to contact Vauxhall to ask for cost of repair to be covered because my last 3 services which were done at an independent garage had 0w 30 oil put in rather than 0w 20.

I spoke with the independent garage and they told me when my registration is inputted into their system it recommends 0w 30 oil.
The local dealership state 0w 20 should be used but how i can be held liable for this is beyond me.

Phoned Vauxhall customer services who have created a case number.

I feel peoples pain....

I would suggest everyone with the well known wet belt issue develops a long memory and boycott any Stellantis product in the future,
the treatment of owners with any glitch or discrepancy in the service history is leapt on as an easy way out for them and ignores the obvious design and belt specification problem.
We are long overdue for a "lemon law" in the UK which would have seen these engines recalled years ago now,
perhaps the new Government could spend some time on that rather than the price of Oasis tickets

My vauxhall dealer in Glasgow has recommended Total ineo first 0/30.
Not the 5/30 GM brand advised in the owners manual .
Total ineo first 0/30 is the same oil that Citroen and Peugeot have recommended from the start.
