Belt replaced with the newer type in that time. No hassle. No cost to me and have liaised with Customer Care through. Can’t fault the dealership at all. The work is covered for another 2 years. All they have said is regular servicing and oil changes and recommending 0W-20 oil and should hopefully have no further issues.

This is interesting to know, I will ask my local dealer this but it is funny as 2 years / average 20k miles is about the time the belt starts to show bad cracks and needs replacing, and that sounds like a red flag that they will only cover it for another 2 years...
My car already had a new belt and I suppose new oil (will check once I get the documents from the last service) so I'm not confident that the new oil or belt makes a difference, the key is doing oil changes early and often.

I'm basically telling my dealer and support customer to have in writing, that they will cover the belt forever if it fails prematurely to anything less than what was originally stated, if not then the car is being sold.

Just as a Final update.

My vehicle used to use 5W-30, then changed to 0W-30 even after my belt change back in 2022, and now as of today with another new belt, it's using 0W-20.
Vauxhall highlighted and stated the belt should still last 6 Years/64,000 miles, in writing, and on paper.

Vauxhall and Customer Care stated no limit to when they stop doing their belt replacements, so if it fails prematurely, I'm going to be super annoyed but know they should cover it as long as I have the stamps and keep any service history.

This has happened to me on the motorway last Thursday.
I've a 1.2 turbo 2019 Grandland X with 54k miles on it.
Was due a service this month and was booking it in for next week and I'm worried now that'll say the won't cover the repair because of this.
I've also to get it towed to a dealership, next Wednesday is the earliest I could get, at cost to myself and pay £140 for the diagnosis.
Praying I get a decent out come and a courtesy car as I've been carless for a week now.

Evening I have read through all posts on this topic looking for some advice, today vauxhall have broken my resolve, I have 2019 grandland x two weeks ago the oil pressure light came on I got recovered to my local dealership where I brought the vehicle 18 months ago on PCP. They then did diagnostics and informed me i needed a new engine 7000 my heart dropped but all seemed OK they asked for my last service which I had done at an independent garage along with an mot, they challenged the service tick sheet stating this was not satisfactory as they need a full breakdown of parts used and oil but they then spoke to the independent garage and some documentation was provided and they informed me it was going to the warranty person the following day I thought this sounds OK they called me the next day and stated I would have to go to Vauxhall customer services direct now for a possible goodwill gesture as I had done over my mileage.
I raised this with Vauxhall yesterday and they informed me although I had not gone over my mileage the dealership had only provided my service paperwork and no other history when I brought the car i only had the book stamped granted this was Vauxhall dealerships, i challenged this and the situation is now back to my service paperwork they won't accept this.
I am now in a situation where I need 7000 for the new engine fitted, which I have not got and would put me in financial difficulty for a loan and the PCP
I still owe 2 and a half years on the PCP
I have no car.
I have followed some previous advice given but no reply from the CEO.
I don't know what to do or where to turn now, like others have mentioned it is really stressful.
What are my options

So, my 2019 Grandland with 40k and full vauxhall service history now has been diagnosed with wet belt, dealer quoting 2k to repair and car is 1 week out of its extended warranty because previous grandland had to be taken back because of numerous faults, car entering last year of its lease, so its undriveable yet I still have to pay lease and seemingly another 2k in repairs, is it worth battling with Vauxhall

Definitely worth fighting. The extended warranty is 6 years at least I have heard up to 10 years elsewhere. Mine is a 2019 model and with full service history albeit not all with Vauxhall and mine was repaired for free. Thought I’d have to argue the case. Guess it depends on the dealership you use for the repair.

I'm in the similar situation like you.. my car was actually recalled by VX, took it in , called me in the afternoon that the timing is failing so they are going to change it free of charge... couple of hours later they called back to say they have changed their mind because of the mileage 80k is above recall criteria. Despite confirming earlier that my belt had failed due to wet belt manufacturing defect... service manager says it might need a new engine as the oil strainer is damaged therefore they suspect engine may have taken deberis into the engine..

Incredibly frustrating that Vauxhall seem to pick and choose who gets this fixed for free. Despite months of complaining they point blank refused to pay for anything but the parts. This resulted in a labour bill of £950 for me to pay. What a scam. To make matters worse the engine still isn’t working properly. High Revs for no reason, shuddering and still burning through oil at an alarming rate.
I have been told I can take it back for them to look at again but once again I would be liable for all costs involved. Disgusting company.

Just to update my situation. I have it confirmed it was my welt belt and my dealership were quoting just under £6k to repair. I got onto Vauxhall the same day who eventually got back to me to say because my local mechanic didnt use approved parts on my last service they wouldnt cover the full cost but 50% of it. I call BS tbh as its under 6 years of age and under 60k miles and shouldnt be happening! Tomorrow marks 3 weeks without a car which is impacting my life. I have 2 years to run on my PCP and I have also emailed my finance company to see if they can solve it for me as I am a complete loss what to do for the best now.
